On the 27th at 10 AM, the 'Yeolrindeul Recycling Flea Market' Opens to Provide Healing Time for Residents Tired of COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the "Yeolrindeul Recycling Flea Market" in front of Gangdong-gu Office's Yeolrindeul at 10 a.m. on the 27th to promote recycling activation and the spread of sharing culture.
The "Yeolrindeul Recycling Flea Market" is a communication space where neighbors can share the joy of resource reuse and sharing. Starting from its opening on May 27, it will be held every fourth Wednesday of the month (except August) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Gangdong-gu Office's Yeolrindeul until October.
This event, under the theme "A Healing Time for You Who Are Tired," offers various attractions, food, and entertainment to revitalize residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The flea market allows any Gangdong-gu resident to participate as a seller and a protagonist of the sharing culture. About 80 booths will operate, including ▲a secondhand market selling handmade new products and used miscellaneous goods ▲collection boxes for used batteries and PET bottles ▲a paper pack exchange booth where collected paper packs can be exchanged for waste disposal bags (2 bags of 10ℓ volume-based waste bags per 1kg of paper packs) ▲food trucks run by young merchants.
Additionally, an upcycling booth operated in cooperation with environmental civic groups will offer an experience program to make air fresheners using ice packs. Residents using the recycling collection and exchange booths will also receive coupons to participate in a prize event.
Moreover, at 11:30 a.m., a "Visiting Healing Concert" will be held, presenting various performances such as classical music, fusion Korean traditional music, and magic shows to bring joy to the residents.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, "I hope this event will bring comfort to the hearts of residents tired from COVID-19," and added, "We will continue to create an atmosphere where resource reuse and sharing culture can spread."
