Monk Distributing Sexual Exploitation Pornography Possesses Over 1,000 'n번방' and 'Baksa Bang' Pornographic Files
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A monk in his 30s, who was prosecuted for obtaining and distributing sexually exploitative materials circulated in the 'Doctor's Room' and other Telegram chat rooms, was found to have possessed over 1,000 sexually exploitative obscene materials for profit.
At the first trial of Monk A (32) on charges including violation of the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse, presided over by Judge Park Min of Suwon District Court Criminal Division 9, the prosecution explained the charges against A as follows.
According to the prosecution, A was indicted for operating four obscene material websites from 2016 until last March and distributing about 8,000 obscene materials. He is also accused of purchasing sexually exploitative obscene materials shared in Telegram's 'n번방' (Nth Room), 'Baksa Bang' (Doctor's Room), and selling them to four people for 150,000 won.
It was confirmed that A possessed a total of 1,260 sexually exploitative obscene materials, including child and youth pornography, on his mobile phone and other devices. The prosecution judged that A possessed the sexually exploitative obscene materials for profit.

A's defense attorney expressed a general acceptance of the prosecution's charges but stated that after reviewing the missing parts of the evidence list submitted by the prosecution and examining some evidence, they would provide their opinion.
