Nambu University Selected for 'Local Industry Development' Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Nambu University (President Cho Seong-su) announced on the 25th that it has been selected for the 2020 City/County/District Local Industry Promotion (non-R&D) project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Accordingly, Nambu University will carry out the project titled "Support Project for Corporate Development through Advancement of Surface Treatment Technology in Material and Component Convergence Industry."
This project was promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to discover, nurture, and advance local affiliated industries, contributing to the revitalization of the regional economy through increased sales and job creation in local small and medium enterprises.
From next month 1st until May 31, 2023, Nambu University will form a consortium with participating organizations including the Gwangju Green Car Promotion Agency Foundation and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, executing corporate support projects such as networking, technical support, and commercialization support with a total project budget of 1.67 billion KRW (1.52 billion KRW national funds and 150 million KRW Gwangju Metropolitan City subsidy).

Professor Kim Young-rae (Department of Automotive Mechanical Engineering), the project’s overall director, stated, “Through corporate support in the surface treatment field, a local affiliated industry, we expect to revitalize the regional economy by enhancing technological competitiveness and upgrading the demand market via high value-added material and component industries and process technology development.”
