KOSPI Rises Over 1% Intraday... Recovers 1990 Level
KOSDAQ Also on the Rise... Surpasses 718 to Reach Year-to-Date High
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI index rose more than 1% intraday, recovering the 1990 level in just one day. The KOSDAQ also continued its upward trend, reaching a yearly high.
As of 2:30 PM on the 25th, the KOSPI index stood at 1990.09, up 1.01% from the previous day. The KOSPI started with a slight rise in the 1980s range but dropped about 0.1% to 1967.84 around 10:19 AM. However, it soon reversed to an upward trend, surpassing the 1990 level.
The buying momentum from individuals and institutions seemed to be effective. At the same time in the securities market, individuals net bought 94.9 billion KRW, institutions net bought 17.6 billion KRW, while foreigners net sold 115.1 billion KRW.

The KOSDAQ index also showed an upward trend. As of 2:30 PM, it recorded 718.27, up 1.37% from the previous day. This is the highest level this year and also the highest since June 25 of last year. In the KOSDAQ market, foreign buying was strong. Foreigners net bought 75.3 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions net sold 58.4 billion KRW and 10.6 billion KRW, respectively.
