Diostech Files Patent Application for 100-Megapixel Camera Lens... "Capable of Supporting Ultra-High-Resolution Products"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Dios Tech, a company specializing in smartphone camera lenses, announced on the 25th that it has filed a patent for a 100-megapixel camera lens it designed independently.
With this patent application, Dios Tech is expected to be able to support the 100-megapixel camera image sensors, which represent the highest pixel count in smartphones. A company representative stated, "Along with producing lenses for existing mid- to low-end smartphones, we expect to apply our technology broadly, including flagship models through the development of ultra-high megapixel lenses," adding, "Through continuous research and development, we have secured technological competitiveness as a lens specialist company and will accelerate further technology development."
Dios Tech has continuously invested in strengthening its lens design capabilities since its establishment. Currently, it operates an optical design team composed of industry experts, including PhD-level personnel, and plans to enhance its technological capabilities further by recruiting domestic and international experts.
According to industry sources, ultra-high megapixel cameras and multi-camera setups have become trends in smartphone cameras. The more lenses there are, the clearer and more depthful the photo quality becomes. Market research firm TSR reports that the proportion of smartphones with rear multi-cameras is about 70% this year and is expected to increase to 84% by 2023.
