[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) has produced and distributed a neighborhood-specific living guidebook titled ‘Welcome to Dongdaemun-gu, Welcome to ○○dong’ to help new residents who have recently moved to Dongdaemun-gu adapt smoothly.
The living guidebook is composed of an introduction to Dongdaemun-gu, neighborhood-specific information, and category-based guidance.
The Dongdaemun-gu introduction explains the geographical location of Dongdaemun-gu and the origins of neighborhood names. The neighborhood-specific section introduces various landmarks, facilities, unique festivals, and community center programs in each neighborhood.
The category-based guidance includes ▲‘Major Civil Complaint Areas’ related to safety, taxation, and cleaning ▲‘Education’ covering education support, lifelong education, and library information ▲‘Festival and Cultural Events’ introducing various cultural events ▲‘Welfare’ including support for the disabled, childcare support, and public health center projects ▲‘Local Economy’ explaining traditional markets and job support, providing information on policies and events closely related to residents’ daily lives.
Additionally, it features 12 selected spots in Dongdaemun-gu to provide residents looking for leisure places in the city with relevant information.
The Dongdaemun-gu living guidebook is available at neighborhood community centers and can also be found on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website.
