Public Home Shopping Conducts Training to Prevent Verbal Mistakes During Live Broadcasts
Broadcast Compliance Training for Show Hosts on the 20th-21st
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Public Home Shopping announced on the 24th that it conducted broadcasting review training to eradicate careless remarks by show hosts during live broadcasts.
As the only public institution home shopping channel in Korea, this is part of efforts to promote honest broadcasting and raise awareness of broadcasting reviews. On the 20th and 21st, Public Home Shopping held training sessions for show hosts and writers covering recent broadcasting review trends, changes in standards, and case studies of types of live broadcast remark incidents. Last year, the Korea Communications Standards Commission issued a total of 132 legal sanctions against home shopping channels, with approximately 80% (including overlaps) related to live broadcast remark incidents.
Public Home Shopping annually conducts broadcasting review competitions and invites expert external committee members for review training targeting broadcasting personnel to foster a healthy home shopping culture that consumers can trust and purchase from.

Furthermore, starting this year, more strengthened broadcasting review training will be conducted, including in-depth training on legal amendments, training for MPs and PDs including new employees, and in-depth training for responsible categories. Song Jae-eun, head of the Public Home Shopping Broadcasting Review Team, said, "One of the company's key initiatives this year is 'Truth (TRUTH),' which is the core of Public Home Shopping's review," adding, "We will strive harder to deliver accurate information and honest broadcasts so that consumers can trust and purchase with confidence."
