Chungnam Provides 'Incentive Support' to Local Travel Agencies Attracting Tourists
[Asia Economy (Naepo) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will provide incentives of up to 3 million KRW to local travel agencies that attract tourists.
The province announced on the 24th that it will operate the "Domestic Group Tourist Attraction Incentive System" with this content.
The incentive system is implemented to support the local tourism industry, which has suffered economic damage due to COVID-19.
The target is general travel agencies or domestic travel agencies registered with their main office located in Chungnam. In particular, the province expanded the support scope from attracting tourists from other regions to include group tourism by Chungnam residents visiting other cities or counties.
The total support amount is 100 million KRW, and up to 3 million KRW per company will be paid depending on the travel schedule, such as day trips or overnight stays.
For example, based on 20 tourists, if a day trip is attracted and they use two or more tourist attractions and at least one restaurant, 200,000 KRW per rented vehicle will be supported, and for overnight trips, the support will be differentiated by adding accommodation expenses to the vehicle rental fee.
Incentives are paid when a prior plan is submitted at least 5 days before the travel date, more than 20 tourists are attracted, and they use paid or free tourist attractions and restaurants in Chungnam, and the application is made within 20 days from the travel date.
