A COVID-19 Case in His 30s Confirmed in Cheongju... Went Fishing in Tongyeong (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The 60th confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has occurred in Chungbuk.
According to Cheongju City on the 24th, A (37), a resident of Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, tested positive for COVID-19 that morning.
A showed symptoms such as fever on the 20th and received treatment at a nearby clinic but did not improve, so on the afternoon of the 23rd, A visited the screening clinic at Chungbuk National University Hospital and underwent a COVID-19 test.
It was confirmed that A went fishing with a cousin from the 20th to the 21st in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam. During this trip, A stopped at Deogyusan Rest Area on the Tongyeong-bound side of the Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway (from 6:00 PM to 6:40 PM on the 20th) and Sancheong Rest Area on the Jeonju-bound side (from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on the 21st).
Cheongju City has notified Muju County in Jeonbuk and Sancheong County in Gyeongnam and is identifying contacts. It was also confirmed that A traveled between home, farm, pharmacy, and clinic in Cheongju.
The quarantine authorities classified 13 people as contacts, including A’s family, the pension owner where A stayed in Tongyeong, and the fishing boat owner, and placed them under self-quarantine.
