Sales of diet convenience foods have significantly increased since May. According to 7-Eleven, chicken breast, considered a major diet food, saw sales increase by 176.5%, and salad sales rose by 24.1% from May 1 to 23. In particular, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trend of 'Home Training' (home + training), where people prefer exercising at home rather than outside, has taken hold, leading to a 59.1% and 28.6% increase in diet convenience food sales in residential and single-person commercial areas, respectively, from January 1 to May 23 compared to the same period last year.
