Wemade Wins Additional Royalty Lawsuit for 'Mir 2' Against China's Jiuling... Compensation of 294.6 Billion KRW
Jang Hyun-guk CEO "All Legal Measures Including Claims for Damages Will Be Utilized"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] On the 22nd, WeMade announced that it won an arbitration ruling at the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board against the Chinese game company 'Jiuling' for breach of license contract and non-payment of royalties.
The Korean Commercial Arbitration Board ruled that "Jiuling must pay WeMade compensation of 294.6 billion KRW including interest."
Jiuling, a subsidiary of Kingnet, signed an official license contract for the intellectual property (IP) of 'Legend of Mir 2 (Mir2)' with WeMade in November 2017 and has been servicing the mobile HTML5 game 'Yongseongjeonga,' but did not pay the contract fee and royalties. Accordingly, in October 2018, WeMade filed for arbitration against Jiuling to demand payment of royalties and interest under the Mir2 license contract.
