Suncheon City Announces 'Call for Applications' for Organization to Host the 22nd Suncheonman Reed Festival
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) announced that it will open a public contest for the non-profit organization to host the ‘22nd Suncheonman Reed Festival’ scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1 in the Suncheonman Wetland area.
The eligibility for the ‘Suncheonman Reed Festival’ contest, with applications accepted from May 22 to June 10, is limited to private non-profit organizations that can plan various festival programs such as exhibitions, performances, and food markets involving residents of the 11 legal villages in the Suncheonman area, civic groups, and ecological experts.
Organizations wishing to participate can download the application form from the Suncheon City Hall website, fill it out, and submit it in person to the Suncheonman Conservation Division by June 10.
Suncheon City plans to develop the ‘Suncheonman Reed Festival’ into a resident-led ecological cultural festival that serves as an opportunity to discover indigenous cultural elements of residents near Suncheonman and realize ecological and cultural values.

A Suncheon City official stated, “Through the festival, we will create an opportunity to revitalize community culture utilizing Suncheonman’s ecological resources and to promote the conservation value of Suncheonman,” and asked for the response and interest of organizations that love and cherish Suncheonman.
