Operation of 'Practical Culture and Arts Planning School'... Theory, Public Design, and Cultural Planning Courses

Seodaemun-gu, Training Experts in Cultural Urban Regeneration

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will operate a "Practical Culture and Arts Planning School" at "Sinchon, Paranggorae" (19 Yonsei-ro 5na-gil) for about three months starting June 16 to train experts in cultural urban regeneration.

The program consists of a "Theory Course" covering cultural and arts project strategies, a "Public Design Course" designing and directing spatial displays in urban regeneration areas, and a "Cultural Planning Course" planning and executing cultural arts and exhibitions.

The Theory Course is mandatory for all, and participants must choose either the Public Design Course or the Cultural Planning Course.

The district is recruiting applicants among local residents, university students, and youth until the 8th of next month, selecting a total of 40 participants?20 each for the Public Design Course and the Cultural Planning Course?through document screening and interviews.

This course features instructors such as Kim Han-sang, CEO of Starfish Company; Yoon Jae-jin, CEO of Yoon Jae-jin Design Lab; Lee Kang-hyun, professor of Industrial Design at Hongik University’s Department of Design; Lim Sung-yeon, CEO of Independent Research Institute; and Yoo Direk, CEO of Place Mak, enhancing participants' professional capabilities.

The program is free of charge, and participants who complete more than 80% of the course will receive a certificate. Graduates will also receive benefits such as ongoing incubation and network support.

Mayor Moon Seok-jin of Seodaemun-gu stated, "I hope the ideas and execution skills of the participants in this course will lead to achievements in cultural urban regeneration."
