The returned budget consists of the entire 25 million won for overseas travel expenses for council members, 20 million won from the policy development expenses for council members, and 30 million won from the council operation expenses.
Amid the increasing county expenses that Wando County must bear due to the Jeonnam-type disaster relief fund and the national disaster relief fund, all members of the Wando County Council united in their intention to contribute to overcoming the COVID-19 crisis.
The Wando County Council plans to lead efforts to alleviate the local economic recession caused by the prolonged COVID-19 situation by operating the budget with austerity.
Since the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Wando County Council has been aware of the crisis, actively cooperating with the county's response efforts, listening to urgent issues, and on March 27, during the 278th extraordinary session, the nine county council members collectively donated 10 million won to the county to provide masks to vulnerable groups and students.
Additionally, to promote the use of Wando Love Gift Certificates and to listen to the difficulties faced by small business owners due to COVID-19, the council organized a traditional market shopping event.
