A woman in her 20s from Jinju confirmed positive after visiting a club in Sinchon, Seoul... 118 cumulative cases in Gyeongnam
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] A man in his 20s from the Gyeongnam region who visited a Sinchon club, not the Itaewon club in Seoul where a COVID-19 cluster outbreak occurred, has tested positive for COVID-19.
On the 21st, Gyeongnam Province announced in a COVID-19 response briefing that a 22-year-old man living in Jinju tested positive for the coronavirus.
The man initially underwent a virus test on the 10th after experiencing reduced sense of smell and tested negative, but on the 18th, after COVID-19 symptoms appeared, he was retested and received a positive result.
The province has identified that the man had visited a club in Sinchon, Seoul.
After transferring the man to Masan Medical Center, the province plans to investigate his detailed movements and contacts. With this case, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has risen to 118. Among them, 113 have been discharged after full recovery, and 5 are currently hospitalized.
Regarding the Itaewon area in Seoul, as of the morning of the same day, a total of 902 people (13 reported by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 889 self-reported) have been identified, but no new confirmed cases were reported.
