Gyeongnam Province and Provincial Office of Education Form Nation's First Safety Experience Education Council
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongsangnam-do and the Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on the 21st that they have formed the nation's first consultative body to establish development plans for safety experience facilities and held the first meeting in the conference room on the 3rd floor of the new government building.
This consultative body, co-headed by the Prevention Safety Division Chief of the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters and the Director of the Student Safety Experience Education Center of the Office of Education, consists of 14 members across three fields: 'planning and coordination, personnel management, and facility operation.' It is a consultative organization that promotes discussions related to ▲sharing best practices in facility operation ▲joint project implementation ▲joint utilization of experts ▲establishing development plans for experience facilities ▲joint program development.
At the meeting, they discussed new collaborative tasks such as exchanging and utilizing experts including fire and education officials from both institutions, development plans for institutional operation through sharing best practices in safety experience facility operation and programs, and joint promotion plans for specialized projects in the Gyeongnam region.
In particular, time was spent discussing plans to expand the consultative body from the 'Gyeongnam region' to the 'Southeast region,' including Gyeongnam, Busan, and Ulsan, to promote wide-area mutual growth among safety experience education institutions.
Meanwhile, the Fire Headquarters plans to complete the Gyeongnam National Safety Experience Center in January next year, conduct a pilot operation, and open it in April.
The Office of Education opened the Student Safety Experience Education Center (Munsan-eup, Jinju-si) in September 2019 and has been operating it by dispatching three fire officials from the Fire Headquarters since June of the same year during the pilot operation period, marking the nation's first such collaboration.
