[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] At around 7:42 a.m. on the 20th, a 75-ton nearshore trap fishing vessel A and a 2.57-ton coastal gillnet fishing vessel B collided at sea 1.11 km away from Mulgae Port in Tongyeong-si, Gyeongnam.
As a result of the accident, vessel B capsized, and two crew members fell into the sea. They are a married couple, and the wife is reported to be in critical condition.
The Coast Guard rescued them after receiving an SOS alert from vessel B's automatic position reporting system (V-PASS) and transported them to a nearby hospital. The Coast Guard confirmed that all 10 people aboard vessel A were unharmed.
