Shinhan Bank Launches 'Areumdaun Mileage' to Support Employee Donations
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Shinhan Bank announced on the 20th that it will implement the 'Beautiful Mileage' system, which allows employees to accumulate social contribution activity mileage and use the mileage to make donations or purchase products from social enterprises.
This system is a new concept social value creation model that accumulates mileage proportional to the time and amount when employees register their volunteer activities or donation details in their personal accounts.
Each employee's mileage account is managed on Shinhan Bank's social contribution activity website, 'Beautiful Bank.' The mileage accumulated in the personal account can be converted into points and donated again through Naver's online donation platform, 'Happy Bean.' It is also possible to purchase products from social enterprises on the Beautiful Bank website.
The idea for this system came from an outstanding social contribution employee meeting held in February. Shinhan Bank CEO Jin Okdong, who attended the meeting, actively embraced the idea and developed it into a program that combines volunteer work and donations.
Shinhan Bank expects that the virtuous cycle of creating social value, such as spreading a culture of small donations and expanding support for social enterprises, will be further activated.
