KT Conducts 'Non-face-to-face ICT Education' for Children in Emergency Care
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 20th that it conducted a 'non-face-to-face ICT experience education' for children in emergency care at 31 regional children's centers nationwide. The non-face-to-face ICT experience education is a real-time interactive class using KT's video conferencing system, 'KT Video Conference 2.0'.
This class was themed 'Dreaming of the Future with ICT' and consisted of activities such as 'Raising animals at the children's center with Augmented Reality (AR)', 'Creating VR content', and 'Challenging to be a one-person creator'. In April, KT sent official letters to emergency care institutions nationwide through the 'Regional Children's Center City and Province Support Group' to receive applications, and has conducted a total of 98 classes so far. The education will continue until the end of online school openings.

Students listened to remote lectures from KT IT Supporters teachers and created results directly on-site using experience kits. Park Soo-bin, a third-grade elementary school student who participated in the education, said, "Because of COVID-19, I couldn't go to school and was at the children's center all day, which was frustrating, but it was very fun and amazing to be able to make things myself and have various experiences." Lee Seon-joo, Head of KT's Sustainable Management Division (Executive Director), said, "We hope this education will help fill the learning gap for children from vulnerable groups. KT will continue activities filled with warm hearts so that our children can freely pursue their dreams."
