Sejong-si Supports Promotional Marketing Expenses for Local Tourism Industry
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City will support promotional marketing expenses for the local tourism industry.
On the 20th, the city announced that it will provide a total budget of 46.5 million KRW under the name of promotional marketing expenses to the local tourism industry, which is experiencing a management crisis due to the damage caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The support targets are 93 companies in six sectors designated as tourism businesses under the Tourism Promotion Act, including ▲travel agencies ▲tourism accommodation businesses ▲tourist facility businesses ▲international conference businesses ▲amusement facility businesses ▲tourism convenience facility businesses.
These companies can visit the Tourism and Cultural Heritage Division of City Hall, submit an application form and a promotional plan, and provide proof of actual expenses incurred to receive support for the amount used up to a limit of 500,000 KRW per company.
However, if the representative is the same in the same industry, only one company can receive support, and companies that are temporarily closed or out of business are excluded from the target.
The support funds can only be used for promotional marketing expenses such as website construction, YouTube promotion, electronic billboards, flyers, banners, and signboards.

Kim Seong-su, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the city, said, “We hope that the support for promotional marketing expenses will become a seed of hope for the local tourism industry damaged by COVID-19,” and added, “The city will help the industry overcome difficulties by establishing a close cooperative system with the tourism industry.”
