The Women and Youth Division of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency announced on the 19th that they have booked and are investigating netizen A, who posted the petition titled "My 25-month-old daughter was sexually assaulted by a 5th-grade elementary school student" on the National Petition Board in March, on charges of obstruction of official duties by deception without detention.
The police confirmed that while A resides in Pyeongtaek and has a 25-month-old daughter, the elementary school student accused by A does not exist, and there are no hospital records or examination details for the daughter as mentioned by A.
On the same day, Kang Jeongsu, head of the Blue House Digital Communication Center, confirmed that the post was false according to the police investigation results, stating, "This petition gathered the hearts of the public who empathized with the pain the young victim must have endured and wanted to support the victim, but the investigation confirmed that the petition was based on false information."

Earlier, the petition was posted on March 20 by A, who identified herself as a mother of two daughters living in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
In the post, A wrote, "My 25-month-old baby was sexually assaulted by a 5th-grade elementary school student," and "The neighbor's son came over to play with my daughter on the 17th, stayed overnight at our house, and the next day, when I was changing my daughter's diaper, I noticed her private parts were swollen and she said it hurt."
She continued, "When I took her to the hospital, they found injuries and suggested a detailed examination later," and "I informed the student's parents, but they said their son did nothing wrong and that my daughter was the problem, questioning why I was making such claims without evidence," and petitioned for punishment of the student and his parents.
