Lee Eui-seong, CEO of Jaram Food, Selected as Jeonnam's 'Rural Complex Industry Person of the Month'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 19th that it has selected Lee Eui-seong, CEO of Jaram Food Agricultural Corporation in Muan-gun, as the ‘Rural Convergence Industry Person of the Month.’
Jaram Food Agricultural Corporation, founded in 2017, is a food company specializing in producing health juices by directly cultivating or contract-cultivating cabbage, onions, pears, and beets.
They operate a smart factory system equipped with a processing building and washing and sealing rooms covering a total area of 2,193㎡.
The Jaram Food brand ‘Chakhan Toktok,’ which commercializes agricultural products grown in the mudflats and loess soil, natural regional resources of Muan-gun, is based on strict quality control, healthy taste, and affordable prices.
They obtained the Food Safety Management Certification (HACCP) in 2017 and received the Clean Workplace Certificate from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency in 2018. They also hold patented technology for an independent 100% raw material extraction system and a manufacturing method for functional cabbage juice.
In particular, using agricultural products grown on about 5 hectares of cultivation area, they produce a total of 10 types of health juices, including cabbage juice, red onion juice, and red beet juice, with an annual production of 2,200 tons. These are sold at large retail marts such as Homeplus, and they have exported $60,000 worth of products to seven countries including the United States, Canada, and Australia.
CEO Lee Eui-seong of Jaram Food said, “Through continuous research and development, we will launch various new products that satisfy consumers and strengthen overseas promotion with aggressive marketing. We will also strive to become a company that gives back to the local community by expanding contract cultivation that coexists with local farmers.”
Kang Jong-cheol, Director of Agricultural Food Distribution at Jeonnam Province, said, “They have widely promoted the excellence of our local agricultural products and created jobs, presenting a successful model of the sixth industrialization based on coexistence and cooperation. The province will spare no administrative and financial support to expand sales channels for excellent convergence industry products and improve farmers’ incomes.”
Meanwhile, although ‘Jaram Food’ is a newly established company founded in 2017, it has achieved rapid growth in a short period, recording sales of 2.5 billion KRW in 2018 and 5.8 billion KRW last year.

Through management innovation, they won the Encouragement Award at the ‘2019 Korea Agricultural Food Distribution Awards’ and hired about 20 local youths, being selected as an ‘Excellent Job Creation Company in Muan-gun.’
