Jangseong-gun Encourages Enrollment in Crop Disaster Insurance
85% Support... Rice Applications Open Until June 26
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Gilsu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that it has launched a campaign to encourage enrollment in ‘Crop Disaster Insurance’ to minimize the economic losses of farmers caused by crop damage from natural disasters.
‘Crop Disaster Insurance’ is a system that compensates for crop damage caused by natural disasters, harmful wildlife, and other disasters, helping to stabilize farmers' income and management.
Jangseong-gun supports 85% of the insurance premium for farmers to expand enrollment in crop disaster insurance for rice and other crops. Farmers only need to pay 15% of the premium.
The insurance enrollment target is registered agricultural operators or agricultural-related corporations cultivating rice.
The enrollment period is until the 26th of next month, and farmers can visit their local agricultural cooperative to apply.
By enrolling in crop disaster insurance, farmers can receive coverage for damages caused by natural disasters such as typhoons, strong winds, heavy rain, damage caused by wild animals, and fire. In particular, through special contracts, seven types of pest and disease damage (rice blast, bacterial leaf blight, rice planthopper, rice sheath blight, rice kernel smut, brown planthopper, bacterial grain rot) can also be compensated.
