View original image[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Ryu Hyun-jin (33, Toronto Blue Jays), who plays in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States, and his wife Bae Jihyun, a former announcer, have welcomed a daughter.
Ryu Hyun-jin's domestic agency, Acepec Korea, released a statement on the 18th saying, "Ryu Hyun-jin's wife, Bae Jihyun, gave birth to a daughter at 8:30 PM local time on the 17th in Dunedin, Florida, USA," adding, "Both the mother and the baby are healthy."
Regarding this, Ryu Hyun-jin expressed through his agency, "Although it is a difficult situation due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), I am grateful and happy that both my wife and daughter are healthy."
The couple, Ryu Hyun-jin and Bae Jihyun, held their wedding ceremony in January 2018. After about two years and four months, they have welcomed a daughter.
Meanwhile, Ryu Hyun-jin debuted in MLB in 2013 when he joined the Los Angeles Dodgers. After the 2019 season, he became a free agent and transferred to Toronto.
