Among them, 9 cases were domestic infections, and 10 cases were imported from overseas. As the number of domestic cases dropped to single digits, the cluster infection centered around the Itaewon clubs in Yongsan-gu, Seoul appears to be slowing down.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on this day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 19 compared to midnight the previous day. This brings the total cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 11,037. Among these, 1,160 cases (89.1% Korean nationals) were imported from overseas.
This is the first time in 7 days since the 9th (18 cases) that the number of new confirmed cases has dropped to the teens after the Itaewon club cluster infection incident. The number of new confirmed cases remained in single digits until the 7th based on the Central Disease Control Headquarters' announcement date, but increased to double digits on the 8th and 9th (12 and 18 cases respectively). On the 10th and 11th, it rose to the 30s (34 and 35 cases), and from the 12th to the 15th, it was in the 20s (27, 26, 29, and 27 cases respectively).
Among the 19 new confirmed cases, 9 were domestic infections. By region, Seoul had the highest number with 5 cases, followed by Gyeonggi with 2, Daegu with 1, and Chungbuk with 1. The remaining 10 cases were confirmed after entering from overseas. Eight patients were detected during airport quarantine, and 2 were confirmed in Gyeonggi.
The death toll increased by 2 the previous day, totaling 262.

The number of newly released from isolation was 30, bringing the total to 9,851 (89.3%) who have been released from isolation. Currently, 924 people remain in isolation.
