Gokseong-gun to Distribute 3.7 Billion KRW in Public Interest Allowance to Farmers and Fishermen Using Local Currency
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 15th that it is paying the full amount of approximately 3.7 billion won of the Jeonnam-type Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance within the first half of the year to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the spread of COVID-19.
The county originally planned to pay 300,000 won each in the first and second halves of the year for the Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance, but as the consumer market froze due to COVID-19, it decided to pay a lump sum of 600,000 won in the first half to overcome this.
To this end, the Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance Deliberation Committee was held to verify the eligibility of applicants, confirming 6,227 recipients. Since the 13th, the selected farmers and fishermen have been receiving Gokseong Simcheong gift certificates worth 600,000 won per person.
To receive the allowance, applicants must bring an ID that can verify their identity and visit the Nonghyup branch located in the town or township where they applied for the allowance.
