View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced that the 2020 Senior Job Project, which had been suspended to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community and to protect the elderly, has partially resumed since the 6th, following the transition to social distancing in daily life.
Accordingly, on the 13th, Mayor Lee Seung-ro visited the Seongbuk-gu Gireum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, the project implementing agency, to inspect the preparations for the project’s resumption, quarantine management, and urged the establishment of a thorough quarantine system in accordance with daily quarantine guidelines.
He also visited the Sorimaeul Cafe, part of the eco-friendly food project for seniors, along with Kim Kang-lip, Vice Minister of Health and Welfare, and officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Seoul City’s job-related departments, to listen to the seniors’ impressions of their activities and encourage them.
Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, “Above all, we will prioritize the health and safety of the elderly, actively reflect the voices from the field, and promote outdoor and non-face-to-face job projects. In addition, the district office will actively support the smooth operation of the job projects by the implementing agencies.”
The Gireum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is promoting senior job projects for about 600 seniors, and before resuming activities, it is ensuring participants comply with personal hygiene and safety education in groups, and checking health daily by monitoring fever and symptoms.
