Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income Available for Application by Anyone Starting from the 16th
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will start accepting applications for the Gyeonggi Province-type Disaster Basic Income on-site from the 16th, regardless of the number of household members or birth year.
The province had been accepting applications for the Disaster Basic Income prepaid card at administrative welfare centers in 31 cities, counties, and towns, as well as NongHyup and local agricultural cooperatives branches since the 20th of last month. To prevent congestion, the application period was divided according to the number of household members and the birth year of the applicant. However, from the 16th until the final deadline at the end of July, the province announced on the 15th that anyone who has not yet applied can receive a prepaid card without such distinctions.
On the weekend of the 16th and 17th, applications can be submitted at administrative welfare centers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, applications cannot be made at NongHyup branches during this period. From the 18th onward, applications can be made at both administrative welfare centers and NongHyup branches during regular weekday working hours. Administrative welfare centers operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and NongHyup branches from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Applicants must bring their ID cards, and one family member can receive the card on behalf of other members without a separate power of attorney. Once the application is submitted, a usage approval text message will be sent within five days, after which the card can be used. The card must be used within three months from the date the text message is received. The usage deadline is August 31. After three months, the prepaid card will be deactivated and any unused balance will be automatically reclaimed.
