Violista Yongjae O'Neil's Special Concert at Myongji Hospital on the 19th... Live Streaming on YouTube
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] Violist Richard Yongjae O'Neill will hold a special recital on the morning of the 19th at 11 a.m. in the lobby of the 1st floor of Myongji Hospital in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, at Sangsang Madang.
This special recital is to comfort and support patients and medical staff fighting against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and the performance video will be live-streamed on YouTube.
Yongjae O'Neill plans to perform one movement from Bach's Cello Suites, Bach's Air on the G String, Schubert's Linden Tree, Schubert's Ave Maria, Vaughan Williams' Greensleeves, and Seomjipagi. Yongjae O'Neill carefully selected the pieces and the order of performance. The piano accompaniment will be provided by pianist Professor Soyoung Lee, director of the Myongji Hospital Arts Healing Center.
Yongjae O'Neill is a two-time Grammy Award nominee and recipient of the Emmy Award and the Avery Fisher Career Grant. He was also the first violist to receive the 'Artist Diploma' from The Juilliard School in the United States. Yongjae O'Neill has performed with renowned groups such as Ensemble Ditto, Enes Quartet, Camerata Pacifica, and the Lincoln Center Chamber Society, and recently joined the prestigious Tak?cs Quartet as their new violist, marking a new chapter in his career. Last year, he celebrated the 15th anniversary of his debut on the Korean stage.
