The ‘Seoul Creative Awards’ are given to citizens and public officials who contribute to the development of city administration by creatively proposing and implementing projects that solve social problems and enhance citizen convenience. Seongdong-gu received excellent evaluations for its administration focused on ‘Smart Inclusive City,’ which incorporates the value of inclusion into advanced technology accessible to everyone, promoting innovation, win-win cooperation, communication, and safety.
In the Innovation Policy category, the ‘Seongdong-type Smart Crosswalk,’ which integrates smart safety functions for the first time nationwide, and the ‘Fire Truck Ssingssing Project,’ a system securing fire truck access roads by applying smart IT technology, were recognized for solving real-life problems through innovative methods.
In particular, the ‘Seongdong-type Smart Crosswalk’ was established mainly in areas with high traffic accident rates based on big data analysis. Since its installation, violations of the crosswalk stop line have decreased by 77.8%, proving its effectiveness in pedestrian safety and traffic accident prevention.
In the Win-Win Cooperation category, the ‘Hyo Sarang Health Primary Care Physician Project,’ which utilizes 4th industrial revolution technologies, and the online resident participation platform ‘Seongdong Residents’ Hall’ received high evaluations as life-centered policies through mutual cooperation between residents and institutions.
The ‘Hyo Sarang Health Primary Care Physician Project,’ in cooperation with the Seongdong Big Data Center, created a GIS health map by analyzing areas densely populated by seniors aged 75 and older and the distribution of chronic diseases. This enhanced the project’s effectiveness by addressing blind spots in health care and providing customized services.
‘Seongdong Residents’ Hall’ is an online platform linked with the offline resident community ‘Life Research Group,’ supporting residents to propose and solve everyday life problems on their own. The residents’ suggestions have been realized into various life-centered policies such as ‘installation of smart security lights’ and ‘projects to create safe routes to and from school using big data.’
