'Hydrogen Mobility+ Show' Delayed by COVID-19 to Proceed in July for Economic Revitalization
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The 'Hydrogen Mobility+ Show,' which was postponed once due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will be held as scheduled in July to revitalize the economy.
The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee held a meeting among co-hosting organizations on the 13th and decided to proceed with the '2020 Hydrogen Mobility+ Show' scheduled for July 1 this year without any setbacks. Originally, the committee planned to hold the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show in March, but it was postponed once due to the spread of COVID-19.
Attending the meeting were Jeong Manki, Chairman of the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, Yoo Jongsoo, CEO of Hydrogen Energy Network Co., Ltd. (HyNet), and Shin Jaehang, Head of the Hydrogen Convergence Alliance Promotion Group, who reviewed the event preparation status and exchanged opinions on key issues.
The attendees agreed that holding the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show is essential to preoccupy and lead the hydrogen industry, a core of the future energy industry, and to promote related industries amid the crisis faced by the domestic industry due to the spread of COVID-19.
In particular, considering the difficult situation of the Korean economy due to the impact of COVID-19, they shared the recognition that the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show should serve as a meaningful catalyst for economic revitalization.
During the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show, events such as the committee meetings led by the Hydrogen Economy Committee, the government's hydrogen economy control tower, the launch ceremony of hydrogen supporters conducted by the Hydrogen Convergence Alliance Promotion Group, the International Hydrogen Forum, and the Hydrogen Industry Development Forum will also be held simultaneously.
However, the organizing committee plans to focus its efforts on preparing quarantine measures, considering that concerns about the spread of COVID-19 have not yet been resolved. They plan to establish a thorough quarantine and prevention system, such as allowing only asymptomatic individuals to enter through temperature checks at the exhibition entrance and mandating mask use, so that exhibitors and visitors can safely attend the event. Additionally, if overseas speakers find it difficult to attend the international conference held during the event period, it will be promoted as a hybrid on- and offline event with video speeches.
An organizing committee official said, "We hope that the 1st Hydrogen Mobility+ Show will act as a momentum for our hydrogen industry to leap forward and become a signal for economic revitalization," adding, "We will make every preparation to ensure that this event concludes safely."
