Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo Discusses COVID-19 Response Measures with Chinese Defense Minister
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo discussed measures to respond to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) between the two countries with Wei Fenghe, Minister of National Defense of China.
The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 13th that Minister Jeong exchanged opinions with Minister Wei Fenghe not only on the COVID-19 situation but also on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and defense exchange cooperation.
Minister Jeong emphasized that international solidarity is important to overcome transnational non-traditional security threats such as infectious diseases and disasters.
Minister Jeong and Minister Wei Fenghe agreed to strive to normally promote defense exchange cooperation between the two countries and revise the memorandum of understanding on direct telephone lines between the navies and air forces even amid the COVID-19 situation.
