[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun stated on the 13th regarding the full investigation of visitors to Itaewon clubs for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), "The goal is to identify all visitors and conduct diagnostic tests within this week."
Prime Minister Chung presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (CDSCH) meeting on COVID-19 held at the Government Seoul Office and said, "There are still people who cannot be contacted," adding, "It is only a matter of time before we find all visitors to Itaewon."
He urged voluntary reporting, saying, "If you hesitate hoping 'I will be fine,' you may face an embarrassing situation."
He also promised, "To protect identities, we will not ask anything except whether you visited Itaewon, and even if tested positive, we will delete any information that can identify individuals and only disclose the minimum movement paths that pose a risk of secondary infection."
Regarding the cases where false information was written on the visitor logs at Itaewon clubs, Prime Minister Chung pointed out, "We must secure the effectiveness of visitor log creation even at this stage."
