'WINNER' Song Minho Heads to Club, YG "Sorry for Causing Concern"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Song Minho, a member of the group 'WINNER,' apologized through his agency YG Entertainment regarding his performance at a club in Yangyang, Gangwon Province on the 3rd during the enforcement period of 'social distancing.'
On the 12th, Song Minho's agency YG Entertainment stated, "It has been confirmed that Song Minho recently went on a personal trip with acquaintances," adding, "We apologize for causing concern to many people. Going forward, we will be more mindful and strictly ensure that our artists thoroughly follow personal hygiene rules and social distancing guidelines."
Earlier that day, Dispatch reported that Song Minho visited Club A in Yangyang on the 3rd. This club is known to have recently opened in 'Yangridangil,' referred to as the 'Gangnam of Yangyang.'
Song Minho reportedly gave a surprise performance at the club and sang his hit song 'Anakne.'
The Club A representative explained, "Song Minho just stopped by while passing through. He was not officially invited for a performance or any other purpose. Since it was the end of the holiday, there were no customers. Most were Song Minho's acquaintances."
Meanwhile, as a cluster infection of the novel coronavirus was confirmed mainly at clubs in Itaewon, Seoul, the entertainment industry is also facing backlash.
