[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it will operate the Dalmagodo Walking Day program starting from the 23rd.

The 365-day Dalmagodo Walking Day is a walking travel activation program operated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020, which was suspended since February due to the spread of COVID-19.

As demand for individual travel and walking trips with minimal human contact and opportunities to rest in nature has increased, the county will operate a quiet and safe walking program for solo travelers in May and June.

The walking event will start at 9:30 AM every Saturday from the 23rd of this month to the 27th of next month, departing with a trekking guide in front of Mihwangsa Iljumun, and a stamp rally will also be held.

On the first event day, the 23rd, participants plan to complete the entire 17.74 km Dalmagodo course, providing an opportunity to fully enjoy the true charm of Dalmagodo at the peak of spring freshness.

The walking program will be conducted with trekking guides accompanying participants to ensure safety and enjoyment while practicing social distancing guidelines such as maintaining safe distances and wearing masks to prevent infectious diseases.

Applications for the walking event can be made through the Tourism and Festival Team at Haenam County Office. The Dalmagodo walking program will be held every Saturday until the 27th of next month.

Additionally, the Dalmadangteo market, where visitors can see and purchase Haenam’s representative agricultural products, will be opened every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM in front of Sacheonwangmun.
