COVID-19 Medical Staff and Elderly Living Alone Receive Michelin Restaurant 'Heart Dosirak' Delivery
Seoul City, Demonstrates Will to Overcome Difficult Situations Together with 1,500 Specially Produced Items
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] A total of 1,500 lunchboxes (worth 30 million KRW) prepared by 27 Michelin-starred restaurants in Seoul were delivered to medical staff and elderly people living alone in the community.
On the 11th, Seoul City held the 'Michelin Star Heart Lunchbox Delivery Ceremony' at Jamwon Hangang Park, attended by Moon Mi-ran, Seoul City Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, Lee Joo-haeng, CEO of Michelin Korea Co., Ltd., and Kim Hyun-hoon, Chairman of the Seoul Social Welfare Council.
These lunchboxes, carrying the meaning of overcoming the difficult situation caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) together, were directly delivered by 30 employees of the Metropolitan Food Bank and Michelin Korea to Seoul Medical Center and Gangseo Senior Welfare Center, among others.
Lee Joo-haeng, CEO of Michelin Korea, said, "The dining industry has faced great difficulties since COVID-19, and I deeply thank the restaurants that participated in this sharing. I hope these lunchboxes, carefully prepared by Michelin and the restaurants, will serve as warm encouragement to the medical staff who have been volunteering for a long time for the citizens, and bring small joy and comfort to elderly people living alone who are going through a difficult time."
