[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Seong-won, a member of the Future United Party, was appointed as the new Chief Deputy Floor Leader on the 11th.
Kim, the new deputy floor leader, announced on his Facebook that "I have been appointed as the first Chief Deputy Floor Leader of the Future United Party in the 21st National Assembly. I have been entrusted with a heavy responsibility during a grave and difficult time."
Kim, whose constituency is Dongducheon·Yeoncheon in Gyeonggi Province, is a re-elected lawmaker who won consecutive elections in the 20th and 21st general elections. He has served as a special committee member for organizational strengthening and as a spokesperson within the party, and was the only one among the four Future United Party spokespersons to be elected in the general election.
The Future United Party plans to announce Kim’s appointment as Chief Deputy Floor Leader as soon as Floor Leader Joo Ho-young returns from his father’s funeral.
Deputy Floor Leader Kim expressed his aspirations, saying, "I will lay the stepping stones so that the Future United Party can be reborn as a party that regains the public’s interest and support." He added, "Through the innovation of the three politics?politics, policy, and party?I will contribute to the Future United Party being newly born."
