Jeonnam Provincial Council Opens 341st Extraordinary Session on 12th... Questions on Provincial and Educational Administration
Processing of Agenda Items Including the Amendment to the Ordinance on the Payment of Living Support Funds for 5·18 Democratic Merit Recipients
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Provincial Council announced on the 11th that it will hold the 341st extraordinary session for 11 days from the 12th to the 22nd.
During this extraordinary session, the council will handle the first provincial government and education administration questions of the year, along with various ordinances aimed at supporting the stability of residents' lives and resolving inconveniences.
In particular, the provincial government and education administration questions scheduled for two days from the 19th to the 20th will involve 18 council members questioning the executive branch on major current issues and receiving answers.
Additionally, the council will review and decide on about 50 items, including the "Special Act on Support for Population-Extinct Areas" proposed by Representative Lee Hyeja, the "Request for Improvement of Tax Reduction System in Agriculture" proposed by Representative Kim Seongil, the "Partial Amendment Ordinance on the Payment of Living Support Funds for 5·18 Democratic Merit Recipients in Jeollanam-do" proposed by Representative Woo Seunghui, and the "Jeollanam-do Urban Agriculture Promotion and Support Ordinance" proposed by Representative Lee Gwangil.

Chairman Lee Yongjae plans to urge the executive branch at the opening ceremony to "do their best to respond so that hope and courage can be given to the residents, pointing out the serious situation of households and businesses in Jeonnam due to the shock of COVID-19," and to request council members to "ask in-depth questions about provincial government and education administration and present creative alternatives."
