Seocho Friday Music Concert Resumes Online Performances
Every Friday evening, the Seocho Friday Concert with Seocho residents shifts to a no-audience concert... Watchable via Seocho-gu Office YouTube 'Seocho Friday Concert' channel
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu (Mayor Cho Eun-hee) will comfort residents tired of social distancing and support cultural artists facing difficulties in their activities by converting the ‘Seocho Friday Concert’ into a non-face-to-face, audience-free concert and resuming performances online for one month starting from the 8th.
The ‘Seocho Friday Concert’ has been providing various genres of cultural and artistic performances to Seocho residents every Friday evening for 26 years since its opening as the New Year Concert in 1994, receiving steady love. However, it has been temporarily suspended since the end of January this year due to COVID-19.
This online Seocho Friday Concert can be viewed every Friday at 7:30 PM throughout May on the Seocho-gu Office YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/SeochoCity). The first performance on May 8, a special concert for Parents’ Day, began with the ‘Park Yun-woo Trio’ (guitar Park Yun-woo, drums Lee Do-heon, bass Kim Sung-soo) and classical guitarists Park Jong-ho and Park Ji-hyung delivering the country’s top-level sweet jazz melodies.
On May 15, the group ‘Mureu,’ which conveys the present of Korean traditional music, will present Korean traditional jazz, a form of fusion Korean music. On the 22nd, the ‘The Genvals Music Society’ chamber quintet will move the audience with a collaboration of explanations of works by Van Gogh and Gauguin and music. The five-member ‘Monsieur Go Band,’ led by chanson singer Monsieur Go, will decorate the last performance of May on the 29th with a sweet chanson concert.
