Eunpyeong-gu Opens Child Rights Instructor Training Academy
Free of Charge from May 6 to September 23
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) held the opening ceremony of the Child Rights Instructor Training Academy on May 6 and officially began providing the educational program.
A child rights specialist instructor is a professional specialized in child human rights education who guides children to correctly recognize and assert their own rights and, through this process, learn to respect the rights of others.
Until now, Eunpyeong-gu has relied on external organizations such as the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation for child rights education, but starting this year, it has established a system to directly train professional instructors and provide timely and effective education stably.
The instructor training academy program runs from May 6 to September 23, once a week for 3 hours a day (a total of 66 hours of education) at the Eunpyeong-gu Office, and the tuition is completely free.
This education involves excellent instructors from the Human Rights Education Center 'Deul,' a group of human rights education experts. Participants learn various theories and cases, from general human rights to teaching methods for rights education, and are nurtured into child rights education specialists.
Participants who complete the entire course will be dispatched as child rights education instructors visiting schools from the second half of this year and will act as protectors of child rights in Eunpyeong-gu.
