Gwangju City Strengthens COVID-19 Quarantine Management for Entertainment Facilities Until June 7
Administrative Orders for Reporting and Prohibiting Gatherings at Businesses Violating Compliance Requirements
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that it will strengthen quarantine management for all entertainment establishments in the area and conduct joint inspections on compliance with the regulations until the 7th of next month, in relation to the nationwide administrative order restricting gatherings at entertainment facilities issued on the 8th.
The inspection will involve more than 80 personnel from 10 teams, including the city, autonomous districts, police, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and consumer food hygiene inspectors. They will check 701 locations such as clubs, entertainment bars, emotional bars, and colatecs within the jurisdiction, providing guidance on the enhanced compliance requirements and verifying adherence.
Gwangju has continuously conducted inspections of entertainment facilities, and in light of recent cluster infections in the Seoul metropolitan area and the relaxed quarantine management due to everyday social distancing, it decided to carry out joint inspections to reinforce measures once again.
The main inspection items include ▲measures taken for symptomatic workers ▲maintaining a minimum distance of 1 to 2 meters inside and outside the facility ▲checking symptomatic individuals at entrances and maintaining logs ▲mandatory mask-wearing for all workers and users ▲availability of hand sanitizers within the premises ▲disinfection and ventilation of the establishment ▲designation of a quarantine manager, among others.
In particular, this inspection will prioritize guidance on ▲mask-wearing after users enter ▲designation of a quarantine manager ▲verification of visitors' identification. For establishments that fail to comply, administrative guidance will be provided, and those with high infection risk violations will face prosecution and administrative orders to prohibit gatherings.
