'Public Certification' without Plugin Installation on Naver Whale
Naver-KFTC Collaborate to Provide Browser Certificate Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Without installing separate security programs or plugins, 'Naver Whale' browser now allows easy public certification login on PC.
On the 8th, Naver announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute to cooperate in providing convenient and secure browser certificate services through the Whale browser.
Browser certificates enable public certification login required for financial and public services using only the browser without installing separate programs on the PC. This eliminates the hassle of directly installing various programs that could affect hardware performance or network environment, making it more convenient than the existing method.
Through the MOU, the two companies plan to support the use of public certification-based services directly within the Whale browser without the need for even minimal plugin installation. To this end, the Whale browser will be equipped with the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute's certificate cloud service, enabling simple yet secure browser authentication.
