Gwangju Bank Joins the 'Deokbune Challenge'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 7th that it has joined the ‘Thanks To Challenge,’ a campaign delivering messages of gratitude and support to medical staff dedicated to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
The ‘Thanks To Challenge’ is a nationwide participatory support campaign expressing gratitude to medical personnel and quarantine authorities fighting on the front lines to overcome COVID-19. Participation is made by posting photos or videos on social networking services (SNS) showing the sign language gesture of raising the right thumb, symbolizing respect and pride.
On this day, President Song Jong-wook and employees of Gwangju Bank posed with the sign language gesture at the head office, conveying the message, “Thank you, COVID-19 medical staff. We respect you,” expressing their gratitude to the medical personnel of the Republic of Korea.
President Song Jong-wook said, “I sincerely thank all medical staff and quarantine officials who are silently dedicating themselves on the front lines to protect the safety and lives of the people,” and added, “We will regard the start of everyday social distancing as a new starting point so that the sweat of the medical staff shed on the front lines will not be in vain, and we will adhere well to daily guidelines to help completely eradicate COVID-19.”
