'Overwhelming Splendor'... Samsung C&T Proposes 'Landmark Design' for Banpo 3rd District
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Samsung C&T Construction Division announced on the 7th that it will introduce a 'landmark design' featuring a diamond concept for the Banpo Apartment 3rd Complex (hereinafter Banpo 3rd Complex) reconstruction site in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, where it is competing with Daewoo E&C for the contract.
To this end, Samsung C&T has decided to collaborate with Perkins-Eastman, a global design firm operating 16 branches worldwide. Leveraging Perkins-Eastman's expertise in designing various luxury residential facilities, the plan is to transform Banpo 3rd Complex into a differentiated residential complex.
First, the exterior design of the complex will be distinguished by a dynamic curtain wall look based on the diamond concept. The unique exterior design, which creates different images depending on the viewing angle, is a core element exclusive to Banpo 3rd Complex.
Facing the city center, the design features a refined curtain wall look and diamond edge side design, while the view from Banpo Stream incorporates open balconies and a three-dimensional design to capture the stream's dynamism.
On the side facing Seodal Mountain, rooftop sculptures inspired by trees with an ascending image and a vertical emphasis on the exterior express an integration of the forest, landscaping, and architecture.
The design concept of Banpo 3rd Complex as a landmark and a work of art extends to the apartment entrance gate and the building entrances.
The complex entrance is designed as a massive frame linking the commercial area and the gate, creating an overwhelming grandeur and splendor from the moment residents enter.
In particular, the gate is designed with a luxurious emerald design inspired by a chandelier, resembling a giant chandelier welcoming the residents.
Additionally, Samsung C&T emphasized that it will apply Raemian's differentiated floor plans and interior styles to Banpo 3rd Complex.
Each unit will secure an additional average of 8㎡ of indoor space compared to existing plans through full expansion of the master bedroom balcony and a new integrated utility room plan.
The evacuation space in front of the master bedroom will be integrated into the outdoor unit room to secure additional balcony expansion area, and all related costs from the expansion will be included in the construction cost to reduce the burden on the association members.
The thickness of the concrete floor will be increased and soundproofing materials will be reinforced in the recessed ceiling to reduce noise between floors.
Kitchen furniture and hardwood flooring will be provided with top-tier Italian brand products in all units, and a hybrid storage system maximizing storage efficiency according to each household's lifestyle will be applied throughout the complex.
Food waste conveyance facilities within units and general waste conveyance facilities in each floor's common hall will be provided, creating a complex where residents do not need to carry trash down to the first floor.
