LH Announces Recruitment for 2,670 Tenants of This Year's First Happy Housing Units
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] LH announced on the 7th that it will begin the first recruitment of tenants for Happy Housing this year for a total of 2,670 households across six complexes nationwide, including Guri Sutaek District.
Happy Housing is public rental housing supplied to ensure housing stability for young groups such as young newlyweds and housing-vulnerable groups. The rent is about 60-80% of the surrounding market price. University students and youth can live for up to 6 years, newlyweds for up to 10 years, and elderly and housing benefit recipients for up to 20 years.
This recruitment targets a total of 2,670 households in six locations: three places in the metropolitan area including Guri Sutaek District with 1,894 households, and three places in provincial areas including Daejeon Sangseo District with 776 households.
Guri Sutaek (394 households) is conveniently located adjacent to Topyeong Station on Subway Line 8, scheduled to open in 2023, and allows access to the Seoul area within 30 minutes.
Daejeon Sangseo (296 households), an industrial complex-type Happy Housing, is supplied near Daedeok 3rd and 4th General Industrial Complexes, Daedeok Technovalley, and Daedeok Research Complex. Priority will be given to industrial complex workers who are members of non-homeowning households, expected to alleviate housing insecurity for workers.
Meanwhile, to strengthen housing support for actual demanders this year, eligibility requirements have been relaxed. For dual-income newlywed couples, the income requirement has been expanded from 100% to 120% of the previous monthly average income, and residence and non-homeownership period requirements for elderly and housing benefit recipients have been removed.
Following the amendment of related laws at the end of last year, the income criteria, which were previously uniformly applied to households of 1 to 3 or fewer members, will from March this year apply the previous year's average monthly income per household by the number of urban workers, expanding housing opportunities for low-income households of 1 or 2 persons.
Applications can be submitted through the LH Application Center website and mobile app until the 18th, with winners to be announced in August.
