On the 6th, SBS's 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' aired the first story of the 23rd alley, 'Suwon Jeongja-dong Alley.'
That day, the 'Tteok-Twi-Soon House,' which regularly had zero sales for the entire day, was revealed. The owner busily prepared for lunch service, but no customers came.
Eventually, MC Jeong Sin-seon's manager was urgently dispatched. Pretending to be a customer, Jeong In-seon's manager tasted the food, ate the gimbap and sundae, then put down the chopsticks. The sundae was even spat out onto a tissue.
Baek Jong-won visited the restaurant to identify the problems and, after taking a bite, said, "What is this? It feels like I've eaten this somewhere before, but also not." He added, "Why is the texture of the fried batter like this? The tteokbokki has a mix of various flavors that create an unpleasant taste. No wonder customers are staying away," delivering a blunt and harsh critique.
Next, Baek Jong-won called in Jeong In-seon, who usually likes tteokbokki. After tasting it, Jeong In-seon evaluated, "It feels like a lot of flavoring and seasoning have been added. It's too much. That's why it stings the throat. It feels like multiple spices have piled up."
Baek Jong-won then asked, "Owner, do you put sansho powder in here?" The owner explained, "A little bit of jajang powder is added."
Baek Jong-won bluntly said, "It tastes unpleasant. The fried food is the worst." After eating the fried food, Jeong In-seon said, "It tastes like soggy snack crackers."
