Yongin City to Accept Private Proposals for Semiconductor Industrial Complex Development
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting proposals for industrial complex development from the private sector.
On the 6th, Yongin City announced that it is receiving private proposals for industrial complex development projects to be promoted in the Yongin area growth management zone (Giheung-gu, Suji-gu, Cheoin-gu Idong-eup, Namsa-myeon, and Moksin-ri, Jukneung-ri, Hakil-ri, Dokseong-ri, Godang-ri, Munchon-ri in Wonsam-myeon) from 2021 to 2023.
To apply for the public offering, applicants must qualify as industrial complex development project implementers as stipulated in Article 16 of the "Act on Industrial Location and Development" and submit a letter of intent for investment in the private proposal industrial complex development project.
The city plans to comprehensively review the submitted letters of intent and prioritize supplying industrial complex quotas that align with public participation industrial complexes or the city's policy directions when the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport establishes the supply plan for industrial complexes in the metropolitan area.
The key review criteria include ▲contribution to city development ▲project purpose ▲land acquisition ▲site suitability ▲green space and infrastructure installation plans ▲environmental and traffic improvement measures ▲alignment with city policies ▲measures to resolve civil complaints ▲community contribution and regional economic revitalization.
Baek Gun-gi, Mayor of Yongin City, stated, "Yongin, which has the best location conditions nationwide, is experiencing a surge in demand for industrial complexes by attracting SK Hynix's semiconductor cluster and the global semiconductor equipment company Lam Research," adding, "We look forward to active participation from capable companies."
