'Wildfire' in Bonghwa, Gyeongbuk, Forest Authorities Deploy Helicopters for Suppression

View original image[Asia Economy (Bonghwa) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A wildfire broke out in the mountainous area around Nam Hee-ryong-ri, Socheon-myeon, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongbuk Province.
According to the Korea Forest Service on the 4th, the Bonghwa wildfire occurred around 1:22 PM that day.
The Korea Forest Service deployed three wildfire suppression helicopters, seven wildfire suppression vehicles, and about 60 personnel including special wildfire suppression teams to the site to carry out firefighting operations.

A Korea Forest Service official said, "A wildfire of unknown cause broke out in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongbuk, and firefighting operations are underway," adding, "We will work to complete the firefighting operations as soon as possible."
