Violist Yongjae O'Neil Concert for Overcoming COVID-19
On the 22nd at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] Violist Richard Yongjae O'Neill will hold a concert titled "Pray for You" on the 22nd at 8 PM at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Yongjae O'Neill plans to perform comforting pieces, including Schubert's "Winterreise" and selected tracks from his own albums. It is reported that he carefully curated the program to offer warm consolation and strength to return to daily life for Korean audiences going through psychologically difficult times through the beauty of music.
Violinist Yang Inmo and pianist Ilya Rashkovsky will join him on stage. Yang Inmo is the first Korean to win the Paganini Competition in 2015 and is also one of Yongjae O'Neill's most cherished junior musicians. Last year, Yang Inmo performed Handel/Halvorsen's Passacaglia with Yongjae O'Neill on the Stars on Stage concert. Rashkovsky is a talented pianist who won the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2012. This is his first time performing on the same stage with Yongjae O'Neill.
