[Afternoon Poem] The Man Baking the Moon / Go Gwang-sik
Empty sleeves fluttered in the wind
Like a shooting star flowing through a narrow alley in August
A snowstorm coming through the gap in the door
A man with one arm missing wears his fur hat deep
and puts dough into a hot pan
Even if the traffic light is always red in front of the man's life
he thinks about whether the children's favorite constellation is Delphinus or Aquila
Making the product the customer wants
is the first principle of marketing, he listens to the sound of footsteps
In front of the pan that adjusted the black blank of the night sky
he tried to bake the moon until the dough became a diamond
but when he opened the lid, it was a failure again
A crater half turned into charcoal from burning black
What if you fail while baking the moon?
The man scoops the dough into the preheated pan again
Though it’s not as crispy as a cookie
he bakes a moon holding a rabbit that keeps drawing his hand
Faces passing by holding takeout coffee
After baking them while suffering from phantom pain
a crater erupting with flames was created
The brown moon wears a whipped cream hat

■ Where did all those people go? May is still green, but we still seem a little unripe, where did all those people go? Is Dalgona Grandfather still alive? The popsicle man who secretly accepted the dented pot I sneaked out with my mom, is he now guarding some alley holding the Cheongryong Sword that was bigger than my younger brother? The man who made cotton candy as big as a cloud indifferently, which school spring picnic did he follow today? Yesterday was Children's Day, birds are flying, the stream is running lalala, but where did those people really go? Did everyone follow the one-armed Bungeoppang vendor who left last winter into the moon? Did they go holding hands? Did they go well without crying affectionately? We still seem a little unripe, and our world seems like it has never come. ? Poet Chaesangwoo
